"The hotel had a nice vibe from the second we walked in. Awesome bakery in the lobby with a wide assortment of options. The roof top lounge also had a cool atmosphere. Heaters for cooler weather. Bar and food options. The rooms were clean and spacious compared to other places I have stayed in Japan. The location was perfect. Easy walk to temples, the Gion district, and to the vibrant Pontocho area. 0.8-1.4 mile walks. The hotel is also on a main road so grabbing Uber or taxis was easy. ...

"This was my favorite of all of the hotels we stayed at in Japan. The neighborhood is really neat and easy to navigate, with a lot of great little shops and restaurants. There is a nightlife around as well, but the bars and clubs are very good at keeping the noise contained so the neighborhood is respectably quiet. Everyone in Gion is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and modern, and the space of the rooms was really nice. If we come back to Kyoto we would stay at this same hotel again and...
