"Great location with really nice sea room views. Check in isn’t great. Don’t expect to be let in before 3pm they keep you waiting right until the last minute. I asked for a king bed they gave me twin beds instead. Mattresses are so springy you won’t get a good nights sleep and there is nothing but a single sheet to cover the mattress either. No phone in my room so can’t call reception or room service. Hotel had work going on so lots of banging and drilling which wasn’t ideal for a relaxing stay. Bathrooms in superior sea view room are really small and not in good condition. The main room was nice and clean as cleaners do come daily. The best part of the hotel was the buffet breakfast. There was so much variety and the breakfast staff were so friendly and helpful unlike the check in staff. The hotel has so much potential being in a great location with easy access to all local amenities but it lacks in service. Small details like early check in should be offered and basic facilities in the room like a phone would help. Check in staff don’t tell you what facilities are available and fail to give basic information that you would expect on arrival. We didn’t feel welcome therefore wouldn’t recommend or return here. "

"A great place to stay. The staff were all genuinely really lovely: helpful, courteous and polite. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The waiting area was spacious and comfortable and the reception bar staff checked if we wanted anything. My only criticism, it would be nice if when the room was cleaned that they swapped out the tea and coffee sachets, milk pods etc. As per the discount given for not receiving room service every day, I only received room cleaning once and a few extra teabags would've been nice. Even on the days I didn't ask for cleaning I received a bag of towels and toiletries at the door though so that was nice. As of 21/06/2026 the was a building site across the street that started work at 8am but this isn't the hotel's fault and unfortunately much of Malta has a good chance of the same. Overall a great place to stay. Clean, comfortable, very central and best of all great staff. "

"We stayed 6 nights at the Hyatt Regency and can only describe it as exceptional. The location is central and close to the nightlife (which was a bit of a worry as we are not party animals), however we did not hear a peep from outside and we both slept incredibly well. Easy to walk to Sliema and a great location to explore the rest of the island. We had some beautiful meals on Spinola bay, and I enjoyed morning runs along the coast before it got too hot and I felt very safe. The room was much bigger than expected, immaculately clean and felt really luxurious. Having a balcony with a seaview was a real treat. Housekeeping are incredible and it was so lovely to return to a clean room after a busy day of exploring. The rooftop pool was another added bonus. Beautiful views, the pool was warm and very quiet during our stay, no fighting for a sun lounger! We didn't use the indoor pool but it looked clean and relaxing. Breakfast was fabulous every morning with a varied selection. We had access to the Regency Club, however we only worked out where it was on the last day (our own fault as we didn't ask and we were out and about most of our stay) but was a lovely addition to have. The staff have been wonderful, I have never experienced such attentive service at a hotel. Every single member of staff we encountered were friendly, warm and helpful, really going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable."

"This was one of the nicest hotels i have stayed at for the price point. It was a solid four star hotel staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. The room cleaning staff the super friendly gave us extra stuff when we needed it. The food at the hotel is excellent, but expensive go pay twice the amount as if you want to a restaurant offsite. Most of the pools were closed due to the temperature, but we are able to use the pool at the Intercontinental. We use the Intercontinental concierge’s to book all of our tours. I can’t say enough about this hotel."
