"Myself and my children have tried a few hotels in the Carlsbad/ Encinitas area and wish we had tried the Holiday Inn first. While it’s 15-20 minutes drive from the coast, it felt more modern and clean than other similar hotels closer to the coast. No charge for working, lovely big pool, beds and bedding were lovely, good shower and water pressure. Will stay again for sure. "

"This is a smaller boutique hotel. I went for a conference at the Gaylord and did not want to pay their room prices. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is small, but the bathroom is generous. I experienced some small issues but the staff corrected them. It's within a half mile of the water and the N/S trolley is close. Restaurants arr some distance away but for $125 a night in San Diego? They did a good job. It's clean and quiet. "

"This was our second stay at the Rambler. Friendly staff, very clean facility, quiet and such a comfortable place to stay whether it’s overnight or longer. Very close to the highway, eateries, and the trolley station. Definitely will stay here again on our next visit to San Diego. "
