Fabulous place to see the Northern Lights. The lodge is cozy and the option to cook is great. There weren't many people when we came, so privacy in the common areas was great. Communication with staff was topnotch.

Great host, even has a snacks for guests we came last at night and almost everything nearby was closed the host had a nice kitchen and few snacks. overall and amazing place this place is like a castle I wish aurora was visible when we were here it would be a memory of a lifetime

Clean, rustic and comfy

Despite our late arrival and short stay, we found the Northern Sky Lodge to be a clean, simple, and rustic stop on our self-directed travel in AK. The breakfast and common areas were very well organized and accommodating. Beds clean and comfy. Wish we could have been there on a clear night.

Away from city lights and saw the Northern lights

Check in was simple. Based on its location, we loved being far enough away from the city; but still close enough (about 25 mins.) to get groceries or do sightseeing. We didn't want to drive here after dark for fear of wildlife crossing this time of year. I enjoyed sitting on the patio the last night we were there and taking some beautiful pictures of the northern lights. Room was comfortable, shower took awhile to heat up; but it worked great. Continental breakfast was nice; and having use of the full kitchen (if we wanted) was great also.

It’s off the beaten path. Beautiful area about 1.5 hours north of Denali and 30 minutes south of Fairbanks. Really pretty and quaint. Nice common area. Breakfast offerings are the usual fair. But there are stoves and microwaves for cooking.
