The staff were very efficient, welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were excellent and the evening meals were also very good. The bed was very comfortable and the room nicely decorated. Sorry to mention the things that weren’t so good - Our room was cold even with the remote controlled radiator. The electric shower in the bathroom gave about 30 seconds of warmish water and then reverted to tepid.

This is a pub with rooms above it , in an old building , steep staircase, nowhere to sit and work with a laptop . Heating took a lot of attention to come on. Really only suitable for an overnight stay. Staff are attentive, breakfast is very good , the pub is great with satellite football on in two bars. Not that suitable for work travellers.

The welcome was warm, and the guidance offered was clearly understood. The room was clean, well presented, along with a spotless bathroom. The bed was okay, a tad lumpy but a good night's sleep was achieved. Drinks facilities were provided, shame the cups were so small. What's the problem with providing good mugs for a proper drink. I had dinner in the bar. Albeit there was a rather rowdy group in, it didn't dampen the overall experience. Timothy Taylors was a good pint, the curry was very tasty with plenty of chicken. Overall my visit was extremely positive and I would expect to return.

Old friends reunion

Overall very good although the breakfast was a little disappointing. Our room was lovely and very comfortable and the overall decor of the lodge was excellent. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. We shall be visiting again.
