The room was rough. This is an old place in desperate need of updates. Stained linens and drapes, everything is old and dated. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Service everywhere was very good. The ocean was wonderful. Views are breathtaking from the balconies. Air conditioning was not great but worked a bit. This is the perfect budget spot if you don’t mind taking a bus or cab into town. The kitchen is in need of updates but worked for making basic things. If you’re looking for an elevated experience, this is not it! But, for the price, was just fine.

The pool area is nice, but that is about it. There was no working wifi for my entire stay and, based on other reviews, this has been a longstanding issue. The restaurant is terrible. Overpriced with really bad food. Rubbery, overcooked shrimp and veggies. Soggy fries. The service is also very slow. And the hotel is not near any restaurants, so there's nowhere else close to eat. I tried to do Uber eats multiple times but couldn't get an available driver to come there. The beach looks nice in pictures, but is very rocky and basically disappears during high tide. They ran out of pool towels and so I had to stand there dripping wet waiting for one. Again, based on other reviews, this is not a one time issue.

I was assigned to a room that was supposed to be offline. It lacked a refrigerator, a phone, and the lock frequently malfunctioned, leaving me outside the door waiting for repairs on three separate occasions. Furthermore, the stove was inoperable. When I returned late from an event and reported this, they informed me it would take three hours or more to move me to another room. This was at 9 PM, and I was extremely tired, so I opted to stay in the room. The following day, no one followed up regarding the missing amenities in the room. I enjoy having wine and water at night, but I had to consume both while they were warm. The front desk offered to store my wine and water in a small refrigerator in their office, but I found it uncomfortable to accept that arrangement. Despite the beauty of the place, I felt as though I had been intentionally placed in a dysfunctional room.

Beautiful location. Great Staff who seem happy to be there. My room had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room, and a kitchen, plus a wraparound balcony giving panoramic views of the bay. We listened to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. Yes, the hotel is a bit older, but it is well maintained, well staffed, and clean. On the bus route to Mismaloya, or a 6 minute cab ride to the Romantic Zone.

Lack of amenities. Room was below average for the price. No heat only ac. Water pressure in the showers was nonexistent. Can hear everything outside and loud neighbors. Wouldn’t recommend.

I recently stayed at Costa Sur Resort, and it was a fantastic experience! The resort is beautifully situated along the coast, offering stunning ocean views and a serene atmosphere. We had an amazing stay at Costa Sur! The views from our balcony were absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are nice and the air conditioning works great which is super important in Puerto Vallarta. There are deals at the bar area for those who like alcoholic beverages. The restaurant is by order only no buffet. The kitchenette area is small but everything worked well. I do recommend taking swim shoes for the beach area there are a ton of small rocks. It’s not possible to play in the beach area without them. The private beach is also pretty small. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Su playa es muy bonita como si fuera una alberca salada y hay peces (lleva zapatos acuáticos por las piedras) el personal es muy amable. Lo único no tan bueno es que las almohadas son un poco incómodas y algunos detalles pero por el precio esta excelente y además tiene una vista inmejorable. Volveré.
