We stayed in a king suite. It was clean, well stocked with towels and instant coffee and tea. It had a hot water kettle (but we always bring our own). The fridge was enough for drinks and leftovers. Check in was quick and easy. A small issue with the door lock was easily fixed. Read the summary paper on table to make your stay more enjoyable. The patio outside with fire pits and grills was great.

Was not able to pass the lobby. Made reservation and fully paid online but was told i had unpaid balance of $150. Then due to not having enough for the incentive on my card, my bank is out of state and was short $9, family and i were sent away and i lost on $200. When booking, make sure you are asking all the questions so you don't end up like us and having your family vacation ruined.

The hotel has recently been renovated, and we loved the modern touches like the keypad lock on the door and the walk-in shower. Rooms are huge, beds are very comfortable, and location was perfect for us - just outside of town with easy access to all the sites. Personable and accommodating staff was the cherry on top of this Salem sundae. We will definitely be coming back!

My stay at The Cove was generally positive, outside of the first night. I had hoped for a second floor room, but none were available. Yet, when I stepped into the room it was lovely. It was modern yet comfortable with nearly everything I needed. The bed was also very comfortable. (An extra blanket would have been nice, but thankfully I brought a small one of my own). The staff were friendly and fairly responsive. There was a bit of misunderstanding about the housekeeping and the system for communicating about it felt cumbersome. The first evening the upstairs guests were quite loud, and their footsteps heavy and disruptive well into the night. Also due to heavy winds that night, the door to the room rattled back and forth all night which was quite startling and made sleep very difficult. It is a motel-like set-up where you enter the room from the outside...a detail I either didn't notice or realize upon booking. The remaining three nights however, were quiet and peaceful and I slept much better. A couple of other suggestions: access to the ice machine would be helpful, especially for early morning departures and needing to keep remaining food cold for the day. Lastly, a microwave would also have been nice in the room. The Cove was a convenient spot, with easy access to nearby towns, food, and shopping. I enjoyed my stay, outside of the first night and would recommend with some caveats.

Great large and renovated room. Loved the parking and location. We weren’t able to use the outdoor spaces due to snow but they looked like they would be fun in warmer months. The room was great for our family of four with two younger kids. We had a nice large bathroom with a tub. Loved having the fridge and dining table. Room was quiet and liked having the upgrades like the smart tv and temperature controls. Could have used instructions for the coffee pot but otherwise everything was perfect.

We were in the one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. It was very clean and very nice. We honestly didn't see any of the staff even once which was pretty funny lol. We checked in at 11:00 p.m. so we got a text with our room number and PIN code to get in and then check out was also just a phone call to let them know we've left and that was that. We never even went into the main building to see the lobby or anything because we were so tired after our very full days in Salem. I can say the outdoor area with the fire pits looked very nice although we couldn't use them due to snow but I'm sure in nice weather they're a really really nice touch. Walking distance from Essex Street where all the shops are is about 20 minutes - 4 minute car ride. Very convenient area to stay at, away from all the downtown noise. Would definitely come here again and maybe take a themed room. We needed the suite with the kitchen this time. The kitchen has a full size fridge and freezer, oven, Keurig coffee machine with pods. Everything was very well appointed and would definitely stay here again.

We honestly were not sure what to expect with such vibrant themes, but we were impressed. The Haunted Forest room was fun and whimsical for a random night away. Our only complaint was that we couldn't get the room dark enough to sleep soundly with the exterior light right outside the window coming in so much over the curtain rod and the thermostat screen being so bright, but I covered that with a hand towel, and we made it work. We will be back in warmer months and look forward to using the outdoor amenities!
