It is a nice place to stay. Within 5 min walk of folly beach restaurants. The only issue I had was the A/c was centrally controlled, and you cannot adjust. The temperature in the room stood around 75°. It is quite unbearable at night trying to sleep with that.

Room was very clean, large, and well-appointed. Only nine rooms in this adult-only hotel that's with walking distance to many good casual restaurants. Bathroom ceiling light/fan was broken and no individual control of temperature. But great otherwise.

One of the best stays I've ever had anywhere. The staff and service were impeccable. Amazingly clean and welcoming. We met the other amazing guests with whom we had breakfast every morning. The room was perfect for two people with a spacious bathroom, open tile and glass shower, freestanding tub, shuttle to the beach, prepared breakfast and the list goes on. You have to be in good enough shape to make the steep staircases to your room but it's worth it. I almost hate to leave a review because I want to be sure the Inn is available the next time I go.

Nothing less than absolutely charming is how I would describe Waters Edge Inn! My stay was for job related purposes so I originally booked the Floridian suite, since it had a workspace,however it was out of service, so was offered two options. I chose the carribean because of its amazing bathroom and there was a table on the veranda I could use my laptop . The inn was very quiet ,private and I felt very safe as a female travelling alone. Just be prepared to climb several flights of stairs. Im glad I packed light and Lionel was very gracious to help me with my luggage. Excellent pillows and a super comfy bed and provided robe you will want to stay in! The outside temperatures were record lows so I didnt use the hot tub or bikes but they were available. I don't know if they are allowed but my only suggestion would be a small electric space heater since the room was cold at night and the thermostat controls the rooms on that floor instead of. individually. I will absolutely book again if I need to return to johns island for work!

Don’t like to leave only 3 stars but a few things are reason, otherwise enjoyed our stay. The staff when checking in was super great, friendly and helpful. The night was when we encountered our problems, Our stay was uncomfortable due to AC not working and Staff not able to fix this. Our room was very warm which made sleeping uncomfortable. The bed was extremely soft and for some reason the room had one chair to be able to sit, relax and or watch a movie together, this seemed odd since most rooms are occupied by couples.Trying to sit in bed to do so was not comfortable . The grounds were pretty and buffet breakfast was good. Great location.

Our second time at Water's Edge. Lovely setting, friendly staff, and nicely appointed rooms. Unfortunately, this time around, they had to move us to a different room on the second night, which was odd and a little inconvenient in that second room lacked a balcony where we planned on sharing a picnic dinner. Otherwise, a very nice stay.

Awful experience. We were expected to check out of a room at 11 am and not have a room until 3 pm even though both night reservations were made at the same time on the same reservation. The room was extremely hot and uncomfortable, and the temperature can't be controlled. The following morning when I came down for breakfast within the slotted time there was nothing left and the staff was having their breakfast.
