Close to some lovely shops and a very friendly community centre with a cafe. Used the pool and jacuzzi which was nice after being on the road. Room large and comfortable with a comfy bed. Carpet a bit threadbare the only let down. Had a good nights sleep and a good choice at breakfast

Really large and spacious rooms which were lovely and clean. Breakfast was well stocked and had plenty of choice. All of the staff were really lovely to talk to and couldnt do more to help. The spa facilities were very good and the pool is a good size with a specific area for children. The only thing I would say is the changing rooms need a little TLC especially with the paintwork above the showers; no proper ventilation so mould is starting to show. Overall though the hotel very much exceeded expectation and would happily return.

We had a pleasant 1 night stay. Check in was made effortless and welcoming by the young lady on reception (sorry I didn’t catch your name but it was Saturday 7th afternoon). Pros: Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Short walking distance to Mickleover centre with a wide range of restaurants, pubs/bars.Good breakfast selection. Cons: Hotel appears outdated, especially the rooms. The first room I was given (308) had a sliding door to the balcony with a gap letting cold air through and offered no sound proofing to the busy A516. This room was happily exchanged for another (307) but again the balcony door offered no sound proofing or heat retention despite closing properly. Poor mattress as you could feel the springs. Review would have been 2* if it wasn't for the friendly staff.
