The hotel is an older building but very clean and well maintained. The staff at the Lansdowne were superb, all of them. The receptionist was welcoming, the bar staff were friendly and chatty. The restaurant crew were accommodating and professional. On arrival the room was not setup for four, an immediate apology and within 10 minutes the additional bed arrived and made up with care. The hotel has a free pool table that our boys loved.

Our stay was fine and breakfast good but first evening room had no heating on. Room was chilly and we asked reception about it and was told heating comes on at 6.30. We asked again at 7pm and the Manager said to reception they could put it on for an hour. Never heard of anything like this. Apart from that staff were very pleasant and breakfast good.

The Lansdowne is an amazing family-run hotel in a great location for exploring the scenic town of Eastbourne. The breakfasts are superb and the traditionally furnished lounge is a tranquil spot to while away some time boosted by the backdrop of sensational sea views. The bar menu offers some nice snacks too.The hotel provides reasonably priced parking permits so you can park opposite the hotel.
The scenery in Eastbourne is amazing.
