The kindness of the owner is what made this stay the best in my entire trip! It was raining at night, so the owner drove me to the Tori gate just to see it lit up at night. He also gave recommendations to a beautiful Sakura park nearby. On top of that, in the early morning I wanted to feed the deer, and he went to a spot he knew to call them over so I could feed the deer. The room was also spacious with a nice balcony, and the bathroom was very modern and clean. It’s very quiet so I could relax a lot. But at the end, it is the kindness of the owner that makes such a huge difference. The welcoming atmosphere and warmth made the trip to Miyajima memorable.

Lovely hosts. The dinner is a must-try—it’s omakase, prepared by the hosts themselves, and it’s the best sushi I’ve had in a long time. The breakfast is also wonderful. After dinner, I strongly recommend walking to Itsukushima Shrine and the torii gate, which are just a few minutes away. Once all the tourists have left, you can enjoy the quiet island and the beautiful views all to yourself.

This hotel and the sushi experience were amazing. It is a traditional Japanese Ryokan, with lots of beautiful traditional features. Our room had a beautiful outside terrace. The sushi experience, watching the owner hand-make the sushi in front was unforgettable, and the sushi was delicious. The owner was so kind and helpful. The perfect stay in Miyajima.

This was an amazing experience for our family of 4. The traditional beds to 15 course sushi dinner to warm hospitality to hearty breakfast all exceeded my expectations. The host went out of his way to show us around to some beautiful night time photo spots after dinner and let us keep our luggage before and after check in/out times. Would recommmend to absolutely anyone except if you have mobility issues as the store to the main rooms were quite step.

Wonderful apartment in a traditional house with two bedrooms and a bathroom, very centrally located in Miyajima. A delicious dinner prepared fresh by the very kind owner and an equally delicious breakfast are included. A wonderful experience that we recommend to anyone wanting to spend a night on this beautiful island.

Wonderful place to stay for a true Japanese experience. The location in town is close to all major sites, but also very quiet. We had an added surprise of being able to watch fireworks from a unique place, known to locals (with the owner’s help)! The sashimi was amazing as was the breakfast. Just before leaving, we had a family crisis that required a change of plans. They were very helpful, which was both comforting and calming.

8/10 Very good

One cannot honestly review this place without seperating the food from the accommodation. The proprietor is sushi chef SUPREME and the dinner course was the most awesome sushi wife and I have EVER had (and we've travel extensively throughout Japan to know). Every dish is prepared in front of you and served one at a time so be prepared to spend a while to enjoy the full course. Even if not staying here, highly recommend you come here for unforgettable sushi. The stay is a little like being in a hostel, superior in room quality but with shared bath and toilet (which is also used by restaurant customers). Everything is modern and clean and the room is nicely decorated but has a tiny sink in the corner for washing face and brushing teeth. I believe there's only 2 rooms upstairs that is accessed by a steep, narrow staircase so if you're a large or heavy set person, probably this is not a comfortable place to stay. Also, DON'T bring lot of heavy luggage because it's a long walk from the ferry terminal, lot of it over unpaved, bumpy sandy road. Besides, it's unsafe to have the ladies who work here to carry it upstairs.Again, the sushi is to die for, EXCEPTIONAL, but the actual stay is not for everyone. But for the adventurous and ones who appreciate traditional setting at a fantastic price (considering the dinner course alone is worth so much more than what high priced sushi restaurants charge for an inferior product), highly recommend a stay here, or at least stop by for a meal.

This place was amazing - pretty much a fabulous sushimi restaurant with a guesthouse on top. We (family of 5) had the run of the place and were treated to exceptional dinners and breakfast everyday. The owner even took us out one night with kitchen leftovers so the kids could feed the local deer. If you stay here, come hungry to every dinner!

The most amazing st

This place was a highlight of our trip. You get to stay in a classic Japanese house, that’s basically on top of one of the most sought after sushi restaurant of Miyajima. The dinner you will get here will blow your mind and the owner is such an amazing character. He even drove us back for free at the station as it was pouring rain. After our meal, he even brought us to feed the deer! We miss this place.
