The check-in staff were friendly and helpful, finding us a different room when ours wasn’t available. The breakfast was significantly better than a simple continental, offering a variety of items. It is a sprawling complex on the LI sound, with nice views from our room and the dining areas. The restaurant, although a bit pricey, had great service, wonderful views, and excellent quality.

When i got to the room i was disappointed...i immediately called the fron desk to see if there was any way i could change my room to one with a view of the sound? Not the parking lot.. They told me there was nothing they could do, they were at full capacity..in the morning , we realized that almost the entire top row of rooms were empty...customer service was a let down...didnt seem like they were too concerned that i was unhappy..

This is our fourth trip back to the Soundview Inn, and we are big fans! The atmosphere is simple, modern, with a laid-back vibe. The rooms are well appointed and are finished with an indoor/outdoor use in mind. The room can be chilly in the winter, but it’s easy to get cozy. The included breakfast is well done and offers a reasonable variety for being an extended continental offering. Coupled with the atmosphere in the main building, overlooking the sound, makes it a great way to start the day! Just as a note, while you don’t go to this property to watch TV, if you do find yourself sequestered with inclement weather, they do not carry ESPN.

The room was very clean, bed was comfy, and the sounds of the water outside were lovely. I did arrive very late and all parking spots were taken which was sort of inconvenient as it is a bit of a walk to park by other rooms. Check in process was super smooth.

We love the location of SoundView but the rooms could use some updating. Upon arrival to our room we noticed a draft and saw the sliding door was not meeting the lock. We also found a light on the wall broken and hanging and the toilet seat was too small for the bowl. The glass door looked so dirty we could not see out to the sound, the reason we booked the Sound View and that was for the view. We asked to change rooms and when we did we found the same small toilet seat cover on the toilet in our “new” room. The glass door was also dirty however someone came and painstakingly cleaned it with a bottle of windex. At least we could see the sound. There was also no light on the wall where the other light was hanging broken in the first room. I truly hope the small toilet seats are addressed as hygiene is important and skimping on the correct size seat should never happen. Also if a resort prides themselves on providing rooms with a view of the water then cleaning the windows before patrons arrive is a no brainer, especially when you are charged a resort fee.
