The hotel is very run down. The bedroom was ok but smelt like someone had been smoking in it. The Scouse female member of staff had zero customer service skills! On check in we were completely ignored as she argued with another member of the team about another guests breakfast payment. The gentleman who check me in was polite. We came to the bar later on for a drink and the same female member of staff once again ignored us completely and couldn't even acknowledge our presence. Another female member of staff came from through the back and yelled..."is anyone waiting". Food manners cost nothing and can either make it break the experience of an average hotel. I wouldn't return.

The location is wonderful but this is a very old hotel. No elevators or porters so if you hace big bags and you are on a high floor then get ready to do come lifting. The staff are great and the food is good but limited in it's variety. The rooms are old and the bathrooms are basic and hot water is a 50/50. We had a family room which was a double and 2 singles but one bathroom so after the second person showered the last 2 had cold showers.
