All around, a nice place to stay. Not luxurious, but perfectly adequate. No major faults. The staff may give the appearance of being aloof or unfriendly, but I perceive this as a cultural difference and not a fault. Perhaps a natural shyness. Don’t expect obsequious friendliness, as experienced at some hotelsl chains. Just genuine kindness.

The room was spacious. The view was great - you could see the sea from the bed. I really liked the location - very walkable and convenient to everything. I also liked the sun deck. But apparently, do NOT pick room 205, or ask to change if you are assigned room 205. When I mentioned the crazy loud bass and music until 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning, the front desk clerk chastised me, saying, "Most guests ask to be away from the bar." Huh?! How would I ever guess that this was a thing. SO - note to future guests of the King Christian - ask NOT to get room 205 if you want to actually sleep and not leave your room in your pjs at 2:20 a.m. to ask them to turn it down

The room we had was nothing like the pictures. We got a 3rd floor walkup (!!!!) in the rear building reached through a dirt alley and multiple steps up and down. View from the sliding doors was an alley. our the front door was a dilapidated building. Would have been nice if the front desk notified us of the many steps, 3rd floor placement, and lack of an elevator, and asked if we needed help with our bags!

Delightful visit! Came for work, but hope to return for fun. Wonderful vibe - old school, relaxed, hip, with a scenic location, fabulous adult pool, and friendly crew. Morning breakfast options (and outstanding coffee the way [any]one likes it), outrageous ice cream, and a fun and friendly bar (not necessarily in that order:)) all within the footprint of the beautifully restored property. A great reason in and of itself to return to STX ASAP! (Tried affiliate properly Waves too… this hotelier knows what he’s doing!! All good!)

Staff was friendly and the suite was very nice. They gave you pool towels to use at the beach across the cay, as well as free passage on the water taxi to/from the cay to use the beach! Everything was wonderful!

King Christian Hotel was in a perfect location to walk to nearby restaurants, shops, and activities. The view from our balcony and from the public deck was beautiful! The cleaning staff were friendly and Julanna, at the front desk, was amazing to work with to solve a small hiccup. Some front desk staff were not as welcoming. We would definitely return to King Christian and would recommend it highly to other guests! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
