The property was well maintained and the staff was accommodating and friendly. The parking was not ideal. We had to search streets for a while to find a tight space far from the property. City ordinances can help this. Fantastic location. The Suite looked lovely but upon inspection could use some updating. Refrigerator was rusted Air conditioner was old and noisy. Bathroom faucets were dated. Light switches were missing knobs. Broken magnetic catches on the tv armoire Overall the property was inviting but attention to outdated details are needed.

Cute spot, doesn’t feel like you’re a couple hundred feet from Duval. We had a great balcony and view of the street. Very quiet and breakfast was a pleasant surprise.

I have a mixed review about this property because I couldn’t properly assess it. My first experience was great. We arrived early from our other property and while our room wasn’t yet available the two gentlemen were very helpful explaining parking and check in procedures and held our luggage for us. Later in the afternoon I suffered from a seizure and my next recollection was waking up in the room. I missed the whole check in processs but I assume it went well. The room (tropical suite) was great but watch the hot water.

We loved many, many things about this lovely vintage property: the location - within walking distance to Duvall St, Mallory Square, etc..., the landscaping - palm trees and flowering vines, the pool area, the comfortable bed, the wonderful balcony seating and view. Yes, parking was an issue, but if you don't mind a little walking, $15 will get you a 24 hour spot in a parking lot a couple blocks away. It really wasn't a problem. There is room for loading/unloading directly in front of the hotel. And yes, breakfast is ample and good, when it was finally ready. BUT the property states breakfast is served 8-10am, and on both mornings we were there, things were not ready at 8:00. Coffee really should be available by 7:00, in my opinion, since there are no coffee makers in the room. That really shouldn't be too hard to do? Also, the lovely kitchen worker seemed overworked, dealing with blown circuit breakers, guests waiting...she either should be paid to start earlier or be provided with a helper. That was really our only issue with Heron House. But yes, we would definitely stay here again; what the place lacks in this or that, it definitely makes up for in character!

The property was very clean and within walking distance from all of the great restaurants and main attractions in Key West. However it was far enough away that you did not hear the live bands from the bars! So peaceful.

Better lighting in the bathroom, had to move the bedroom lamp in there to see to apply makeup. A coffee pot in the room would be a really nice addition. 7:30 to get coffee is really late. I called the after hours maintenance to ask about a heater because our room was cold and his reply was “you are in Key West giggle giggle. Not a way to treat guest, especially when it’s 40 outside.

The room we stayed in was very small since the sink was in the bedroom. There wasnt room for a coffee pot in the room so there wasn’t one and the hot water was hit and miss
