"Many things in Hakone were cloaed. Had dinner at the buffet which was amazing. The room was gorgeous with our private onsen. This was so relaxing. The hotel smelled amazing."

Shrouded in beautiful Autumn foliage and appointed with traditional Japanese accommodations (slippers specific to the toilet room, main room and patio each), it felt like quiet, authentic luxury. "The hotel does not serve food to guests, and is not conveniently located to local restaurants. Even if you ask the hotel ahead of time if your reservation comes with food and they write in the affirmative, you may find upon arriving that they do not have a reservation for you and will not serve you. Bring your own food for dinner and breakfast or stay closer to town."

"We loved our stay at an authentic old school ryokan. The staff was lovely and worked hard to make our stay pleasant. They have a special greeter named Milk who added to the charm. I slept well on the traditional mats. It was right by the bus stop so easy to find. The establishment has well worn aged charm that suited us. "

"Wonderful ryokan just by the station in Gora. You can get traditional Japanese dinner service and breakfast. You can also get your own onsen tub on the balcony, which I had, and which was great. The room I had was semi traditional Japanese style. The futon bed wasn't directly on the floor but on a platform. This is a must try. I can really recommend this place."
